Grass still greener despite dollar's fall

The superior outlook for United States real estate and Asian equities has not been diminished by a sharp fall in the Australian dollar, as experts warn of the challenges that face home-grown investments. 

"It makes sense to still have money in US dollars but perhaps not as much as before," Lyle Meaney, managing director investment advisory, says.

Holding a proportion of investments in international shares, bonds and -equities diversifies a portfolio.
