Daryl Dixon’s interview with Ross Greenwood on superannuation on 2GB Money News
Dixon Advisory Executive Chairman Daryl Dixon questioned the inequities between the treatment of general retirement savers and politicians and high-earning public servants in a lively discussion with Ross Greenwood on 2GB’s Money News.
During the interview on 11 February 2013, Daryl spoke about:
- the “hostile” treatment of private super versus the generous benefits of politicians, particularly those who entered parliament before 2004
- large tax penalties incurred by many Australians resulting from the $25,000 concessional contributions cap, while politicians avoid penalties
- the possibility of the government introducing legislation to apply the extra concessional contributions tax to politicians earning more than $300,000 before 1 July this year.
