Daryl Dixon covers a range of super topics on Tony Delroy’s Nightlife
The share market, UniSuper, the Aussie dollar, interest rates, investing in property and the federal election were among the topics Daryl Dixon, Dixon Advisory Executive Chairman, discussed during his recent appearance on Tony Delroy’s Nightlife on ABC radio.
Daryl remarked on the positive 2013 financial year for people who stuck to their strategy, with most recovering their global financial crisis losses, while those who “lost their nerve” and moved to a lower risk strategy had the downturn but “haven’t had as much of the recovery as they should have”.
He spoke about the importance of understanding one’s investments and risk profile and diversifying among a variety of assets, even if you want to take high risks.
Daryl spoke at length about issues with UniSuper’s defined benefit scheme, which prompted several questions from callers. Other questions included super account fees, taking a super lump sum to pay the mortgage and government super schemes.
