Daryl Dixon on ABC radio’s Nightlife – 29 May 2012

Daryl Dixon covered a wide range of topics, including the European debt crisis, self managed super funds (SMSFs), budget changes affecting super, the Australian dollar and interest rates, in his latest interview with Tony Delroy on ABC radio’s Nightlife.

The discussion began with issues in Europe, particularly the problems in Greece with a run on the banks and the possibility of the country leaving the eurozone, before turning to local matters.

Looking at issues affecting super at home, Daryl spoke about the benefits of self managed super funds such as attracting higher cash rates because of the smaller balances and providing safety in the current economic climate. He also discussed his new book Securing Your Superannuation Future: How to start and run a self managed super fund and the increasing popularity of SMSFs.

Daryl took a range of questions on superannuation matters including the government PSS fund, the reduction in the super concessional contributions cap and transferring from a defined benefit super scheme.
