Dylan VandenBrink

Associate Wealth Adviser - Strategy

BCom, DipFP, CFP®

Dylan VandenBrink joined Dixon Advisory in 2016 and has spent time working in our Canberra and Sydney offices before returning to his hometown of Adelaide in 2019. Here, he provides comprehensive strategic financial advice tailored to the specific needs and goals of a broad range of individuals.

Through developing personalised strategies, Dylan assists clients in planning for retirement, managing redundancy payments, structuring assets tax effectively, providing superannuation solutions and protecting family wealth. He also specialises in providing advice to CSS, PSS and Super SA members on understanding and maximising their defined benefit superannuation schemes.

According to Dylan, the key to quality advice is building a strong understanding and relationship with each client.

“My role is to understand my client’s financial goals and to develop and implement a clearly defined plan to help achieve those goals. Once a strategy has been put in place, I then work closely with the client over time to ensure they remain on track,” he says.

Dylan also notes that people may miss out on financial strategies and benefits that are available to them if they don’t seek professional advice, particularly at critical stages such as when they are approaching retirement.

“Superannuation and taxation laws are complex and constantly changing,” he explains. “Financial advice can help people make the most of their personal situations and help them identify unnecessary or unknown risks on their wealth-creation journeys. It can be important for people to receive financial advice to ensure they are building wealth efficiently and managing any risks appropriately.”

He has a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance and Economics from Flinders University and a Diploma of Financial Planning from Kaplan. Dylan has also attained his Certified Financial Planner® accreditation from the Financial Planning Association of Australia.
